That is a valid question. It would be good to hear from owners experiencing
the problem who do not run an amplifier. OTOH, one might logically expect a
power zap to cause a complete failure, not merely 30 or 40 dB of attenuation
until activated again.

A friend and I were just wondering what percentage of relay problems
might be related to using the rig and an amp without a relay buffer?
There seemed to be some relationship between this and his relay failure.
