Dear Rich,
The CD-ROM from Yaesu has most of the part numbers
but not all.
I needed a Molex connector for the FP-29 and it is drawn,
it is referenced, but there is no part number associated with
it, even at Yaesu Parts Headquarters. The guys there actually
searched the bins for me.
If you have a tabloid printer available with 8-1/2" paper in
one tray and 11x17" in another, you can make a decent hardcopy
print. Some of the schematics are on tabloid-formatted PDF files
and they blow up pretty well. If you try a print on an 8-1/2 x 11
machine you will get fragmented pages that don't exactly line
up.
Using the computer screen to look at large schematics does not
work easily. The Yaesu manual brings you to a page that's larger
than the screen in the X and Y dimension, and Adobe does not let you
scroll around like Visio or AutoCAD, etc., and you can find yourself
off the page very easily, hence the tabloid print.
Another idea is to take the disk to Kinko's or Staple's and have them
do the printout in the two sizes. I do that for the engineering drawings
and floorplans I get from the engineers at work, as I like to have a
hardcopy
in case my data becomes corrupted down the road.

....is the only "shop manual" available from Yeasu the cd
version? Is it usable? I have troubles seeing schematics on some of my cd
manuals....prefer print version but I guess that's out nowadays.
