***    only does this duplicate the effort (I seem to be      ***
***    having less and less free time nowadays) but if the    ***
***    files get out of sync, then the effort required to get ***
***    then back in sync is prohibitive.                      ***

***    needs as the extended designations are available from  ***
***    many other sources - in fact the same ones that I      ***
