Henry,

    You are right, for small MLAs the narrow bandwidth is a big problem at 
the lowest frequency. I measured the MFJ loop 2:1 SWR bandwidth as 9kHz in 
the 20 meter band. My design greatly improves both the efficiency and the 
bandwidth. For example a square loop with 2.0 meter sides has a 2:1 
bandwidth in the 20m band of  50KHz. This loop operates over the 10MHz to 
30MHz frequency range.
