Good afternoon all,

As promised yesterday, here are some photos of an assembled unit with a
production-representative PC board and home-made pins.

Some comments:

This particular unit is for a 6AQ5 - and eagle-eyed readers might see
exactly that on the tube. :) The board can accept either a 7-pin
socket or a 9-pin socket. The holes for the 9-pin socket can be seen
between the "2" and "3" labels. (rotated 90 degrees)

The board clearly identifies the pin numbers of the four-pin socket to
facilitate wiring. For maximum flexibility, I intend to supply them
un-wired so they can be used for other applications beyond the BC-230
transmitter.

The brass pins will be pre-soldered. To get good alignment, I've got to
use a steel assembly fixture when soldering them.

There are multiple pads on the board for each pin. This makes the
wiring slightly cleaner and allows you to have more than one wire per pin.

The purple color is the trademark of the board house I used (OSHPark).
When I get the production run made, I'm going to see if I can go for a
different color, maybe red. We'll see.

Earlier I had commented that when inserted into the tube socket, the
mini tube was *loose*. Well, with wires soldered to it, I find that the
tube is no longer loose. :)

Thanks much and 73,
Ben, KD5BYB
