A bit unfair to Neville Chamberlain who sacrificed his career for his
country
by pretending to appease Hitler while buying time for Britain to ramp up
military production.

He was vilified but his duplicity may have saved countless lives. As it was,
Britain was barely ready in time for the Battle of Britain nine months
later,
and nearly lost it.
