[ARC5] Help Needed

Well, thank you for the thank yous but I've come to the conclusion that I
have too much of some things and dynamotors are among those things.
Which can be a good thing but only occasionally - today is one such
instance. I have been running the DM-28-J today and after an hour or so
it's become quite noisy again. I guess the rust extended to the bearings
and I'm not equipped to swap them out.
So I'm changing my offer to a DM-28-B which also is minus its filter base,
has smooth paint rather than wrinkle, has rather shorter leads for some
reason - those darned hams :-) - and runs smooth as silk. I also know
where this came from, the Indianapolis Hamfest back in about 1995, when I
scavenged it from an empty table as the fest was ending. The tag says I
cleaned and greased the bearings back in 2011.
By the way, Taigh, if you go way back we were having a conversation about a
radio that I have that has the PV-1/PV-2 stamps on it. It's a CBY-46145,
.52 to 1.5 Mc and I know its history. It was surplussed by Calspan Corp
(ex Cornell Aeronautical Labs) back in about 1970. I bought it in Hamburg,
NY from a place called East Coast Electronics. As I recall the only mod
they made to it was the use of one modern cap to sub for one of the famous
canned caps that had failed. I never have powered it up on the 48V power
supplies the way I usually do. You and I were talking about a trade and as
i recall the ball was in your court. How did the Harpoon restoration work
out? I haven't been to your web site in a long while.
