I spend quite a bit of time on 40M AM and out here in the Northeast it is mostly a daytime band with activity from just above 7125 to just below 7300 taking into consideration your AM bandwidth and license class.

For 75M it is just above 3600 to around 3900, You might hear me en Francais chatting with VE friends down at the low end at times.

Both bands have US/VE to DX AM activity after dark and usually with some power and antenna gain at both ends.

While some AM is channelized a lot more has spread out as SSB activity appears to be decreasing, except during contests.

7290 kHz.  However, even though the ARRL states this frequency, in their "band plan", for AM, they run SSB bulletins on that frequency every weekday!  And those come on without any monitoring of the frequency for stations already using the frequency. Glen, K9STH

While on the AM subject, is there AM activity on 40m?  I am just about ready to start using my 40m AM/CW ARC-5 station.
