So, we have three bulbs with different lives but interchangeable: 47, 1847
and 755.

Is the current the same (for current sensitive circuits) and the lumen
output the same, more or less (for some of those old dials that require
significant light to promote visibility)?

I have used long life bulbs in equipment (miniature) and out in the garage
in trouble lights (full sized bulbs).  However, they usually have noticeably
lower light output making them unsuitable for some dial applications and in
the garage unsuitable for older eyes under the cars.
