Need to find someone who is very good at working on Drake equipment .... specifically a Drake TR-4.
I have one along with the power supply and remote VFO. It needs a good going through, check out and alignment...
just generally putting it back in good operating condition. It has problems receiving, although the RF output seems to be good
on all bands. Full output. It receives for a while, but then seems to go haywire on the receiving end.
I recognize that I dont have the expertise to do this. If it were a Heathkit, I'd feel more comfortable, but a Drake is a bit out of my league. Plus, with my travel schedule for my job, I dont have much time at home other than on weekends, and those are taken up with a lot of honey dos and honey lets as a result of being gone. I like the TR4 and have wanted to put a Drake station on the air for a long time.
Wondering if there is anyone who would be willing to work on it if I shipped it to them and paid returning shipping ... what it would cost for the refurbing. I have another TR-4 that is more of a project rig that I'd be willing to give to someone as partial payment too.
