To friends of Tom Farland NØJMY and customers of Hayseed Hamfest -

I received a note from Tom's family this evening with some unfortunate 
news.  Tom has been hospitalized and is suffering from some serious 
medical problems, the full extent of which are presently unknown.  I had 
an email from him Sunday saying he'd been in the local hospital for 
tests, and still had a lot of pain.   Evidently things got a lot worse, 
as he was taken to the Emergency Room later that night and transferred 
to an ICU in Cedar Rapids yesterday, where he's mostly sedated due to 
pain.  They think it may be pancreatitis, but the diagnosis is uncertain 
at this time.

Tom's wife asked me to pass this information along, for the benefit of 
anyone who may be waiting on a reply to a Hayseed Hamfest question or 
order.  Please be patient until things get sorted out, and pass this 
information along to anyone who may be asking.

In the meantime, thoughts and prayers for Tom and his family would of 
course be appreciated.   I'll provide any further information as I 
receive it.
