That is strange Glen...I have never had that
problem in Dallas...Sounds more like a Richardson
problem then a dallas problem...I always get my
USPS in one day from anywere in Dallas...Mouser
USPS is always 1 day to Mesquite from Ft
Worth...So far I have always had my stuff on time
with Priority Mail...Guess that Mesquite is a good
PO...

Fortunately, shipping to Richardson, Texas, is
"local" from Mouser and the average shipping cost
is just under $5 by UPS and the delivery is the
"next business day". However, I do try to order
several items at a time to "spread out" the
average shipping cost per item.

Anything that goes through the Dallas Bulk Mail
Center (and everything that comes by mail into
this area does go through the center) can take up
to a week to be delivered. That center is the
worst in the country (followed closely by Denver
and St. Louis) for delays, lost mail, etc. The
U.S. Navy did a large scale "test" of the mail
system a while back wherein they "tracked" the
time needed to deliver the item, was it lost, etc.
The results were that if the mail had to go
through Dallas, Denver, or St. Louis it was 10
times more likely to be delayed or lost and if the
mail had to go through 2 of those centers it was
10 times 10 (100) that it would be lost or
delayed. Of course the USPS didn't like the fact
that the study was done.

Those 3 centers were dubbed "The Bermuda Triangle
of the Post Office"!

For some reason, maybe profits, UPS shipping has
become expensive.  A box that was less than one
pound to Southern Oklahoma, now that is a one day
delivery, cost me nearly 11 dollars
recently. Mouser likes UPS and they are considered
standard shipping if you don't specify.

I guess now on the Mouser Web site you have to
specify and if something you order is a back order
you specify how the second box will be shipped or
the order won't go through.  I placed my last
order over two weeks ago and included some 1847
bulbs.  They were back ordered and I have yet to
receive them.  Thank goodness Mouser pays for
shipping of back ordered items.  I, like Dick,
would hate to pay 10-11 dollars for 10 # 1847
bulbs.
