[Boatanchors] WTB - Antenna Tuner. . . . .

Lee beat me to it. Lots of various models of MFJ and TenTec tuners that
will do both coax and balanced lines. Most even have a built in SWR bridge,
and if you get one like the 941, it will even have a dummy load and antenna
switch. Make sure the models will handle the balanced line....some do, some
don't.

The L match will work fine, but not with balanced line. That will need a
somewhat more complex tuner or a balun.

Susan....

Here is what you can do....  Make a LC or CL tuner.  All you need is a coil
of wire and variable capacitor.  You can mount everything on a board and use
alligator clips to hook it up.  Works like a champ.  All you need is a coil
and a 365 pf variable at your power level.  You can find the information on
the web.  L match.  Simple to build and very effective.

But, you can also buy a MFJ tuner on Ebay for 50 bucks that would work well
too.

Finally getting around to setting up my own, brand new-old station,  and
one piece of equipment I need as soon as possible, is the most (best - ??)
Antenna Tuner (Used) I can buy for something less than about $200 (my
absolute Budget !!).

Basic things I'm looking for are the ability to handle at least 200 watts,
and it must be able to accommodate both coax and balanced line.
I'm not sure that it makes much of any difference to me, if the tuner is
manual or automatic.

Thanks very much for any consideration.
All the best for the Holidays,
