Nice thing about the Drake W-4 (and WV-4 for 6 & 2 meters)
is that the sensor unit can be removed from the cabinent
and put where it is convenient to the cables hooking up
your rig under test.
Yes, I have had both since brand new.

My thinking so far is that the W-4 would fit the bench best plus be easier to work on and no external pwr required . The Waters would be a good one, if no problems crop up with the sensor diode, which I read, is in a small oil tank in the instrument (big problem to repair, which, of course might not ever come up). It's also larger and needs power. However, since I do most of my shopping on eBay, the chance of refurbishment is a possibility.
