[Boatanchors] Do these devices still exist?

Maybe I am not dreaming and maybe some of you other old timers can remember these things and tell me if they can still be bought. The "mystery' things I am asking about were small coiled devices that were used to replace a component without tearing the original components' original solder connection apart. The component could be simply clipped out and the small coils could be slipped over the lead remaining of the original component and the new component slipped into the other of the spring like connector and soldered. This made for a very good solder splice and kept the modification neat. I find that removing old caps and resistors is not very kind to terminal strips and tube pins. A lot of heat and prying of the hot wires away from the connection is hard on the wiring and hardware.

Anyone remember these handy little "springy things"?? What were they called ? Are they still available today and where? Thanks for reading. 73, John, K5PGW
