[Boatanchors] Not handheld frequency counters

As long as we're talking about frequency counters, I'd like to ask a 
somewhat related question.

A bunch of years ago I was in a hamshack where there was a large frequency 
counter hanging on the wall.  It was definately not portable, or hand held.

I was told that it came from an AM broadcast station.

It was digital, with large red digits.

I don't know the frequency range, but was told that it was accurate on 40, 
75 and 160M.

Is there any special name for such a device?  I'd like to have one.
