P.R.O.F.I.T. plus those poorly engineered FM radios that couldnt
"officially" be modified.
OTOH with B style tubes installed service life increased many fold which
made for happy customers and many new ones who had been dealing with the
franchised shops and were tired of being screwed every time a unit had to be
serviced. Taking business away from Motorola in particular was a pleasant
task.
