And as an (OT?) side note. I collect OTR (Old Time Radio Shows) and
some NTR (New radio dramas from BBC etc) of every genre. Lately I've
just started adding SOME OTV shows and movies from the early days of TV,
a very FEW series up through the early '80s (Like Murder She Wrote, our
favorite TV show of all time). I try to post an old movie or TV show on
my OTR blog at least once a week (missed last week as this 3.6GHz Dual
Core Intel computer was maxed out on bandwidth ). There are over
139,000 files (~1TB) on Drive D which is dedicated to Audio and 2,200
(476GB) on drive "G" which is dedicated to Video files. Both of those
drives are 2TB in capacity. All except a small part of this is Public
Domain and I haven't had to pay for any of it (yes, you can pay to buy
the stuff from vendors, but being PD it is all available if you know
where to look). It has taken years to put it together and is much
better entertainment than is available on TV and Radio today!!
So, different strokes for different folks.
NOTE: To keep this On Topic, I've considered building a small AM
broadcaster so I can listen to the OTR on a boatanchor receiver
reminiscent of the time period the shows came from (30's 40's 50's
etc). But I haven't done it as I have a high end audio system on the
computer that is hard to beat for fidelity. . .
