I met Nose once around 1970 when he came to Boston for a teaching assignment
at Harvard if I remember and came to the ARRL New England convention. What a
sense of humor and a real interesting character.
First worked him on 80 as a Novice when I was a K2, got a 449 and still have
that card.

I have two QSLs I have pulled out and sort of keep out in the open
because they are somewhat special to me: One is a 20 m. CW QSO with
W6AM/6 when Don was in his Eldorado on the Hollywood Freeway. The
other is KH6IJ because back when I was just starting, KH6 was a big
deal for a guy with a T60 and random end fed wire practically laying
on the ground. Nose was such a good op he could copy a VFO to a zip
cord out of the noise.
