[Boatanchors] Viking II again

I received the new mic elements from Mouser earlier this week.  had some foam rubber about 1 inch thick out in the garage so i cut out a piece that would be a snug fit inside the D-104 enclosure.  Then scooped out a place in that for the Kobitone element.  Placed same within after attaching the leads and closed it up.  Last night after lugging the Viking II into the shack and up on the rack shelf where it will be living i hooked up a wattmeter and dummy load then fired it up.  Tuned a receiver to 7160 where i have this thing xtaled for to check out the audio.  WOW.  What a difference.  Really sounds nice.  Now to fish the coax for the 40 meter antenna across the attic and down into the shack and i'll be pumping RF into the ether, modulated AM RF that is!  CW note doesn't sound bad either actually.
