[Collins] parallel amplifiers

Hello,

this will be an interesting task but I would not try it. Even if all is
perfect you only get double power which will be a 3dB signal gain at the
receiving side. Probably unnoticed and not worth the trouble.
If anything goes wrong you might destroy both of your 30L-1 easily.

You will need some kind of power divider to split the drive power to both
linears and a power combiner to get it back together. While this is done
with solid state amps I suspect it to be more difficult with a tube linear.
A solid state amp has a fixed output impedance but the 30L-1 has a pi
filter output which can match a wide range. Also the required drive power
for a 30L-1 is about 70 to 100 W. For two you will need 140 to 200 W
probably more than your transmitter can deliver.
So I would say forget about it. Get a better antenna or a bigger linear. A
30S-1 will do the job nicely.

Subject: [Collins] parallel amplifiers

Hi: I would like to run two 30L-1 collins linear amps in parallel to
increase power. Anyone in this august group would have any suggestions on
how to?
Thanks in advance.
