It is available for 100 W AM, but few people use it nowadays.
There are also about 10 HF frequencies in use by region.

I should have also given the following.

121.500 ELT's Listen for a raising and falling siren sound, sometimes voice
heard here
121.600 Training ELT's Old - not to be used anymore.
121.775 Training ELT's
122.900 Search and Rescue Training and Civil Aviation.
123.100 Search and Rescue Actual and Air Shows.
243.000 Military ELT's (Many civilian ELT's xmit a signal here also in
addition to 121.500).
406.025 New ELT's with Xmtr identification data stream, most also Xmit on
121.500 with a lower power signal so the existing DF gear can still find
them. Some may have embedded GPS to give their location to the satelite
becomming a "Cooperative Receiver".

NB: Ebergency beacons on boats are EPIRB's but escentally do the same as
ELT's.
