I used to live along the border in South Texas and there were quite a few=

frequencies scattered through the federal bands that were pretty much
unusable due to stations on Mexico using the same freqs. For along time,
there was someone in Mexico using 166.4375 mhz with a 100.0 pl tone, whic=
h
happens to be the input frequency to most of the US Customs repeaters on
165.2375 mHz. I had heard that they (Customs) was aware of the problem, b=
ut
that they had to go through various diplomatic channels to get anything
done...

I know there are various treaties between the US and Mexico regarding
communications interference, but I think a lot of the offending Mexican
stations are just operating without license or anyone to shut them down..=
