I was surfing the Motorola site the other day and there is a new system w=
here they use the iden phones on a closed system of their own repeaters, =
that can also go off system through Nextel.
I'm guessing that's whats going on.
Is the Nextel coverage really that good allong the border area by itself?=
I know in WA State it's not even close. But if you have the infrastruc=
ture to put closed circut cameras along the border radio relay sites are =
not really that much of a problem, area they?

CNN had a segment tonight on Border Patrol Units (watercraft) patrolling =
=3D
in Niagara Falls, NY and the units were definitely using NEXTEL units in =
=3D
the direct connect mode.

That's really funny. The BP has spent a couple of million on their new d=
igital system, and they are still spending money on NEXTEL. Another fine=
example of OUR tax dollars hard at work!
