there are two Special Air Mission 747 aircraft used for presidential travel,
tail numbers 28000 and 29000.  whichever the pres is on is AF1 (actually
whatever fixed wing aircraft the pres is on is AF1).     for domestic travel
usually the second one is not used.  in this case the second goes along for
backup and for all the extra support staff and hangers on.
