[FedCom] FRS military traffic Bosnia & Herzegovina

I noticed on a recent trip to Cannon AFB in Clovis New Mexico that the
guards at the gates were using UNIDEN GMRS radios to communicate with each
other. By monitoring those frequencies it was clear they were using them
for personal comunications and were saying things that would not at all be
allowed on a military net.
Range wise? Personally using both VHF and GMRS UHF gear of equal wattage I
find my UHF radios do much better. In fact , I can talk further on my 5
watt GMRS HT than I can my 25 watt mobile in most circumstances.
