[FedCom] the great switch

Just wondering, has anyone seen any articles on the FBI reorganizing their
radio system? Or switching the nationwide commons (like 167.5625 to 167.575
and HRT from 167.5375 to 167.550?) All the .25 splits (except 3 or 4) have
been accounted for, as part of the one input/15-20 output channels, but .550
and .575 seem to key separately, as does 172.700/168.375 R, 165.925/168.825
R (both of which are probably BP not FBI).
In 20 years of monitoring, I've never seen anything like this.
Example- the old channels are still being used- so yesterday I had a
surveillance (en clair) on 162.6125 I/ 167.825 R, 170.825 R, with another
digital op being run simplex on 170.8375. I'd love to read a paper on what
they are doing and how it is set up where.
167.525 and .375 blow me out of the house, while 171.175, and 171.7875 I
only hear if I position the scanner in exactly the right spot.
I'm not getting any inputs, although I have the 2 main ones plugged in, so
everyone is not near me. (although 170.8375 was pretty close yesterday,
perhaps my time is short...ha ha..you know they are avid fedcom readers when
you write about something (say the BP radio techs talking in the clear on
170.675) and THE NEXT DAY they all go coded!
But I already knew that, the fun is in the hunt, not the conversation!
I should be getting paid for helping to plug leaks!
(By the way, FBI or NSA readers, the surveillance with the air asset coming
down I-5 at La Costa on 6/3 on 167.4875 was in the clear, as was the one
yesterday on 170.825. You're slipping.) Ruff
