Channels 1-6 used by the Postal Inspectors, 1/2 in the Boston area, 3/4 in
outlying areas (Worcester, New Hampshire, Rhode Island)
Channels 1/2 May also be called the Red Channel
Channels 3/4 May also be called the Blue Channel
Never heard anything but tones and or data bursts on 5/6`
SF 1/2 Used by the Postal Security Force, Security at the main Postal
Facility in South Boston. I've often seen Postal Police following Postal
Service Tractor Trailers moving down the highway, presumably moving between
different distribution centers.
I don't belive that I've ever heard any encryption on any frequencys.
Channels 1/2 & 3/4 are quite active in this area. "Boston Control" appears to
be the main base, callsigns are typically a name followed by 2 digits such as
Henry, Ida, Edward, Frank, Robert, Sam, followed by a number from 1-99. I've
had no luck trying to decifer thease callsigns. Many other VHF channels in
the 162-173 and UHF 418, ranges are in use by various postal facility's and
vehicle operations departments throughout the region.

Happy Scanning
Kenny
