Mystery- The HIDTA freq of 414.475 in San Diego has a different input than
the normal 419.4, which I'm trying to find. The 414.475 uses touch tones and
numerous PL's to adjust camera's on the border (so I'm told).
When the 167.9 PL is on, I'm picking up simplex FBI traffic from L.A.,
probably from a UHF link to an RA. If anyone lives in the area and has a
better antenna, can you see if you hear the traffic and can find the input?
I think it's either a link to one of the CHARLIE channels, or one of the
173's direct, maybe in Riverside?? Trying to find it is complicated because
you also have the LA HIDTA repeater with the normal input on the freq, and
depending if you're closer to the LA HIDTA site (anyone know where the
414.475 repeater is in LA?) you'll hear DEA instead of the touch tones and
the FBI, so you probably need to put on a 167.9 PL. Thanks gang/Ruff
PS- If anyone knows the HIDTA sites for LA, please advise. The only one I
know is 414.5 is by the Hollywood sign. I've heard 414.475, 414.500, and
414.550 (barely)- never heard 412.0, 414.450, or 414.350, so either they're
way North or not there. I also found a repeater on Red Mountain in Ventura
on 417.650 that repeats the 416.2 input to CH6, but also has some sort of
data on it.
