This is the radio channel lineup for the Lincoln National Forest - note
that RX and TX refer to the mobile radios (not the repeaters) AFAIK -
therefore "talkaround" is probably on the repeater output instead of the
repeater input freq. The National Forest dispatchers probably only have
access to the repeaters, the Air Guard channel, and possibly the 168.35
channel (locally / short range with a low power base). All of the listed
channels are probably simplex / single frequency except for the repeater
channels.
Structural fire protection in the area is the responsibility of the
local FDs in Lincoln County and Otero County who operate in the 150 Mhz
band. Wildfire responsibility is shared by the structural FDs, NM State
Forestry, and the Lincoln National Forest. 154.310 simplex is the New
Mexico statewide fire mutual aid frequency.
You can go to www.airtankers.com to see what airtankers have been active
in the area this year (they started early due to drought conditions I
think) - click on Communications then Message Board.
The nearest large city is Almagordo NM.
