I know we have subscribers in Alaska, and I know I sent this privately, but
I don't think publicly.
Alaska has set repeaters throughout the state. These are TOTALLY different
from the lower 48. I suspect they pick the closest repeater for Command,
then use a simplex for tac, and I'm not sure if they use the regular Air
Tactics freqs or pick another simplex from the group.
Maybe someone "up there" can enlighten me. What I find most interesting
is the fact that almost all the Alaska FS freqs are Justice/FBI freqs down
here. I'd love to know the FBI setup for AK. Anyhow, here's the Forest
Service Alaska Cache:
CH1 164.525 DIR
CH2 163.050 DIR
CH3 163.8375 TX 163.050 RPT
CH4 163.175
CH5 163.9125 TX 163.175 RPT
CH6 163.025 DIR
CH7 166.6375 TX 163.025 RPT
CH8 164.150 DIR
CH9 164.800 DIR
CH10 163.9875 TX 166.875 RPT
CH11 173.8125 TX 168.475 RPT
That's it. Anyone know repeater locations ???
Here's some other BLM freqs now being used by the Forest Service in SoCal.
TAC1 166.725 DIR
TAC1 170.050 TX 166.725 RPT Tecate Pk,Monument,Toro Pk
TAC2 166.775
TAC3 168.250 (heard last year on a Los Padres or Angeles fire)
FAA AIR LIASION 169.350
Itinerants (163.100/168.350) can also be set up to repeat either way.
415.400 was the UHF freq I heard last year repeating an air tactics channel.
Happy Fire Season/Ruff
P.S.- I welcome any corrections/comments, and especially info on how it
works in Alaska. Also interested in any USFS LE freqs heard, other than
168.025 and 166.125. I also found the Santa Monica Mtns LE repeater on
172.525 now has a PL of 146.2
