I would agree with Chris, Allan.

USCS is definitely a good user, but don't forget DEA. All of their
active frequencies are subject to OTAR, and for example, it's used
extensively here in the DFW area.

Another frustrating thing is that if you have a tone capable radio,
it does not block out this OTAR thing, which if you have the volume
turned up on your radio, it can be a VERY LOUD blast of data and
sound that will drive you insane if it's used alot.

So I pose this question to the group....Why is it that those of us with
tone capable radios can block out the hiss of DES on a transmission
but we cannot block out the OTAR data? I have been told that the units
of the particular agency that uses this never hears this crap on their
radios. Why do we?
