It seems, as Bob said, "the times, they are a-changin'". I'm not sure if
it's just San Diego right now, or everywhere ongoing. I have all agencies
(Justice/Treasury) going 100% coded, with the new-sounding encryption, or
going silent all together (switching to the massive SENECA system perhaps?)
every frequency I check. So far, the FBI is in the process of switching from
the 167, 12.5 split freqs,(usually) to 167 freqs with .25 spacing, usually
right above or below the old freq (167.3875 to 167.375, 167.7125 to 167.725,
170.825 to 170.8375, 167.5625 to 167.575, 167.5375 to 167.550, 170.350 to
170.3625, 168.350 (being used by the tech's)to 167.3375, but also using
(167).150,.2125,.2375,.400,.425,.475,.525; and all new 169 & 171's with 12.5
splits (171).175,.5125,.5375,.6125,.6375,.7875, and 166.9125 in Orange Co.
repeating either SDC1 or SDC2, suggesting to me this is probably statewide,
and possibly starting to move nationwide (for the Bureau.
ATF has remained on the same freqs, but now with 100% SENECA digital.
IRS has disappeared from UHF, with SENECA now heard on the VHF pair
167.000/165.950.
U.S. Marshals Los Angeles, and possibly here, on the 163.8125/163.200
pair, so far 100% SENECA heard today for the first time, and since the old
San Diego freq of 162.7875 has been silent for some time, the 163.2 I heard
today may mean SD has moved to 163.200 also. Postal Inspectors still on
407.275/413.575, 100% coded.
DEA (I think)is still on the regular system, but has had much less
traffic, as is Customs.
  USSS has been totally silent.
I'm very interested if this is occurring elsewhere in the U.S., and if
people (especially the USSS) have switched freqs.
What about the "Homeland Security" secret police? Do they have local
offices, and a radio system.
So if anyone else is noticing "the change", and has new freqs, or any other
tidbits (like who in what area of SoCal hears 171.7875 +5, they are just
barely readable here, but are part of the massive one or two inputs, 20
repeater system, repeating either 162.975, .950 or 173.4625, please e-mail
me if you don't want to post.)
A friend advised the 166.9125 is +5 in the Buena Park/Orange Co. area, so
I'm sure if y'all in the L.A. area strat looking, you're going to find ALOT
of new digital freqs in weird splits.
The hunt is on! Let's see what we can chart with no clear voice
(inputs, repeater locations, like where would the 166.9125 repeater be in
OrCo ???) Ruff
                          The Hunter
