Hey, people still get onto flights with hand guns in their CARRY on bags.
One was discovered only when the person, while making a connection, left the
secure area to run a errand. It was found when he returned back through the
metal detector....

The new hire TSA folks are being given a 'screening' test to see how well
they observe and think about what they see. However, the existing folks who
are being rehired seem to be just sliding through...

This is a job for a skeptical person with a lot of experience. My vote
would be to hire retired big city police officers. The only requirement is
that they have to had worked both patrol (min 10 years) and narcotics or
vice (min 5 years).. Then we would have folks who keep us safe and know the
difference between an electric shaver and a handgun.

And... until ALL the airport workers, including the in-flight food stockers,
baggage handlers, and maint folks have to go though the same front end
security screen, we will continue to have HUGE security holes...
