Enough cops to go around...

In major metro areas, most guys bail after 20 or 25 - typically by age 50..
Same goes for military enlisted retirees - there all done and out by age 45.

There are a LOT of retired cops who would gladly work even 20 hours a week
for the $20 per hour the job pays... It supplements their pensions. Go to
the typical 'retirement' venues like Florida and Arizona.. you'll find lots
of retired cops working at Wall-Mart & Home Depot for a lot less.

The 'new' TSA job should attract some at least thinking folks. $35,000 is
not a lot of money in NYC or LA, but it's a wonderful salary for the likes
of Des Moines, Phoenix, or even Orlando.
