I am still coming up to speed on P25. As I understand it, for P25 radios to
communicate with one another they need the following settings to be the
same:
1) Network Access Code (NAC)
2) Talk Group Identification (TGID)
3) Mobile Manufacturer Identification (MFID)
This would assume that they are on the same radio frequency.
With the Uniden BC-796D, does the end user program a given frequency and the
scanner will decode either analog or P25, or do you need to program which
type of modulation?
Another question I have is about the P25 NACs. I have seen $61F on mutual
aid frequencies. Is this a nationwide NAC for all mutual aid frequencies?
Also, is there are common TGID and MFID for mutual aid frequencies?
