Hi Warren and the list,
My apologies if I only furthered the confusion. Yes, Customs aircraft
and ground stations do use the OMAHA callsign on VHF at times, I was
speaking in terms of a "most of the time" basis. It has been noted SECTOR
has called OMAHA and LIMA in the same conversation pertaining to the same
aircraft. It has also been noted that a LIMA callsign was used but the
OMAHA call for the aircraft didn't match, I believe it was for OMAHA 11MP,
anyone who has a copy of my DTF list can look this up. I guess when it's
their radios and their assets they don't always have to follow "our rules",
but that's the fun part of the hobby. Again, sorry I skimmed Chris's
original post and was confused by the follow up. The good thing out of it,
Ruff supplied an excellent list of LIMA bases in CA that I didn't have, and
my SIERRA call explanation helped someone monitoring NAS Jax for USCS
aircraft. BTW, I'll send you a private msg Chris in a few, haven't chatted
in awhile.
Cheers,
Ed Ashcraft
