Hello,
My name is Jeff Smith and live in southern MD. I have been scanning Military Avaition for about 8 years now as well as comms from the base I work at, Patuxent NAS. I got into this crazy hobby when I started working with the V22 Osprey program.
Anyway, I am new to this group and decided to join as I have been monitoring DOD comms all this time and am starting to get to the point that I have that covered pretty well for this area. it appears that the Govt. is really starting to go through some changes in that it is starting to look to other agencies for coverage in areas that the DOD was covering but now have limited resources due to recent events. AIr Patrols over major cities being an example.
I hope I can glean some ueful info from you folks. I'll be posting a follow up email soon as I'd like to take a few minutes and explain my method for frequency research so you folks can offer up any comments on whether or not my current methods will prove useful for finding and identifying the freqs for my area.
