[FedCom] Trying to decide a good freq range to work next

>From what I have seen thus far in my neck of the woods, the ANG units =
still
use the freqs in this range for the BS. I have heard some pretty comical
conversations. I remember one night right after turning on the scanner
hearing " Bravo 6" "negative" "Alpha 7" "negative" "Charlie 4" =
"negative".
This went back and forth for several minutes. Then finally one guy spoke =
up
with a series of expletives and commented about his submarine being =
sunk. My
being completely stupid as to what was going on, I spoke with one of our
test pilots the next day that laughed and explained it is common for =
pilots
heading back and forth over the Atlantic to draw out the game battleship =
on
their kneeboards and playing during the flight. I actually thought they =
were
up there flying over Wash DC trying to place the red and white pegs with =
one
hand while jockeying a fighter around the night sky with the other. :-)=20

There for a while the CAP missions were the "Job Boards in the sky". =
Pilots
would ask incoming /outgoing units if Airlines were hiring in the area =
they
were from. I guess a lot of folks were really worried about getting laid =
off
from their regular jobs.

I can't say I see any big increase in HAVE QUICK usage, at least not in =
the
CAPs. Usually when they come on duty they will do a quick check of the =
HQ
system then they will usually be in the clear throughout the rest of the =
CAP
flight. From what I have caught the ANG Units flying the 16s still hang =
in
the 138-144 range for chit chat. Usually I can catch a call sign and =
bring
up a file for that particular unit and I am set. I can't say I have =
heard
them switch to HQ for a period of time long enough for me to think they =
were
using it as chit chat. Not yet anyway.
