Ken,
165.2375 Mhz 100.0
This could be :
A-01 TAC 01 - Customs Car/Car
165.9500, was a Holyoke Repeater long ago for the IRS
You might want to SEARCH the 16x -17x Mhz Area, when the Postal Svc
is operating, some of the Older Repeaters used Links in that Range.
Boston , Worcester, Providence, Lowell, Manchester NH and Portland Maine are
that way.

Subject: [FedCom] Springfield MA Activity Report
For period 1/1/03 through 2/9/03:
Monitoring from my office about 1 mile from the federal building
(Springfield MA) & from the home monitoring post (major limitation is just
using a portable antenna attached directly to the BC 780XLT) :
165.2375 (CTCSS 100.0) -- Informal chit chat (passing through on interstate
highway system close to my office), appeared 1 unit was a mobile & other was
using low power HT since I wasn't able to hear the other unit -- IRS-CID,
ATF, Customs?? (happen to be just doing a search in the federal bands, ).
165.9125 digital/ scrambled? (rare use)
165.95 Digital probably encrypted (IRS-CID), (ocassional usage)
165.2875 Digital probably encrypted (BATF), (ocassional usage)
167.125R (CTCSS 167.9) -- FBI, in the clear & also encyrpted (ocassional
usage)
167.5125R (always) Encrypted (FBI?) (daily).
167.6625R (CTCSS 167.9) -- FBI, in the clear & also encyrpted (ocassional
usage)
415.05R (CTCSS 91.5) Postal Inspectors/Security (daily usage) --
interestingly that more than 1 repeater appears to get keyed at one time.
Hartford is main control but also other offices (e.g. Springfield) have
access to the network. Maybe at least 8 channels in the sytem - but unable
to find the others -- may be related to input CTCSS to key an appropriate
repeater & simplex rather than more repeaters on separate frequencies.
I basically took all the DEA 400 mhz frequencies out of the scanner since
they were all encrypted anyways..
