APCO P25 is the ONLY digital format the Uniden "digital" scanners will
decode. But it won't decode encrypted stuff, of course

For all of you who have a Digital Scanner, the Federal Protective Service
(atleast here in Boston ) has been ASTRO for over 2 yrs.

A Major change in the Northeast is that the Local Dispatch centers are being
closed down and consolidated on a Regional Basis. Not unlike what Customs
did when Sector(s) were closed and moved to Orlando FLA, look for the FPS to
have 4 MegaCenters.

Locations are:
A Search of the http://www.gsa.gov web site answered a lot of questions.

Philadelphia
Handeling: CT, DE, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, PR, RI, US VI, VT, VA and WV

Suitland Maryland for Washington DC

Battlecreek Michigan
Handeling: AL, FL, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC and TN
Handeling: IL, OH, ID, MI, MN, WI
Handeling: IA, KS, MI, NB

Denver Colorado
Handeling: AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, Guam, HI, ID, LA, MT, NV, NM, ND, OK, OR, SD,
TX, UT, WA, US Territory of the Pacific

Former FPS Channels, which might still be active, but in ASTRO format are
from the Boston Area....

413.8750 Mhz Portsmouth NH, Boston - Paging..
413.9250 Mhz Pagers...

Pagers have long been converted to Commercial Services, atleast I have not
heard them in the past 5 yrs

417.2000 Mhz Repeater
415.2000 Mhz input

One of the Repeater(s) was in Milton on Great Blue Hill with Multiple CTCSS
tones.
Another was in Woburn and the other was Downtown Boston.
