Here's a couple of interesting items from some of my recent travels...

167.050 MHz - We all remember this frequency as the FCC repeater in vario=
us
cities, right? Why then is there someone running DES encryption on this
frequency in the Miami area? It was a pretty strong signal all over the
South Florida area, but stronger in Miami than Ft. Lauderdale.

167.5375 MHz - In the Portland, OR, area we have been hearing APCO P-25
digital testing being done on what has been an FBI frequency. This is the=

first I've heard of any P-25 digital showing up on any of the FBI
repeaters. =
