Hi Gang;
San Diego seems to be one of the test beds for the new fed
radio systems. Besides the tendency with all-digital radio's to put freqs
right next to each other such as:
165.875 R
165.8875 R
166.875 R
166.8875 R
170.825 I
170.8375 R
170.900 I
170.9125 R
And numerous others. I'm wondering if this is happening anywhere else,
everything in VHF is now P25 digital except for a few Customs channels, but
what I'm seeing is the complete restructuring of the spectrum. Freqs like
170.8375,.9125 and .9625 were never used before, the high end of 170 was in
.25 splits. I'm particuarily interested in 12.5 splits in the 162-164 area,
and .25 freqs in the 166 area that used to be 12.5's (I've got a strong
repeater on 166.6375, which means 166.625 is now probably an input. Has
anyone found P25 in 12.5 splits from 164-164.8375, or .25 splits from
164.875-.975?
So far I've only heard one on 164.5375, against the (old?) OCDETF freq,
164.550. I think there's also an input on 162.4375. Weather here is on
162.4. Also found inputs on 166.800 and .825, 164.975, and 172.000, but
unable to confirm outputs. There are at least 4 "wide-area nets" with one
input and as many as 10 (or more) outputs (necessary for 100% digital
encryption in mountainous terrain.)
172.6875 should be the input for 164.5375. Any help or additions
appreciated...Ruff
