There are several list for the National Interagency Fire Center frequencies
(aka the Cache). Sometimes also refered to as the NIIRC (or something
similar). Do a search of "NIFC Frequencies" and they'll come up. One note
however is narrowband frequencies are now being assigned and those haven't
surfaced yet.
Next try searches of the parks, forests, or wherever the fire is occuring.
Often those frequencies are listed since they rarely change. Some crews will
also use simplex frequencies from the park/area they're based out of.
The federal fire people are very tight lipped about the frequencies they
use. But the freqs still get out. A few years ago when they had some
equipment out this way, I asked "Officially" so we could interop w/them if
needed and they said no "Officially". The guy told me to look on line
because the unofficial sites were accurate. So you can imagine someone
walking in won't get far. The lists on line at least upto 2002 had been
accurate and most are still used.

With all the forest fires in the northwest, does anyone know where I might
find an accurate list of DNR, BLM, Forrest Service and Air Attack
frequencies in use? The Media Relations people at the firebases were
"reluctant" to give out that info.
