Have we determined if the original photograph that started this thread is a
NASA or USSS vehicle?  I tend to believe it is a NASA unit possibly using an
antenna similar to this link http://www.kj7u.com/AllWeather.html  Of course,
this thread has digressed to the point where I no longer remember the
photograph.

This vehicle is somewhat new but it dates back at least several months,
maybe a year or more.  I agree with it getting a bit off topic.  The two
antennas with the little plate at the bottom are still a mystery but I'd
guess some type of sat antenna.  It's interesting the two thick sticks are
mounted adjacent to them. They would be about right length for something on
VHF (Y/Z?).  Also what's missing is interesting as well.  There doesn't
appear to be a normal VHF comm antenna. Unless the thick sticks are used
for routine comms they either rely on a handheld or the good-time radio
antenna is really a disguised VHF.  Neither really make sense...
