I did a FOIA on a Predator crash which was due to loss of the 
terrestrial signal. Basically, it was lost going between two ground 
stations due to a hill. I wouldn't be surprised if the DOD pushes 
satellite link ups to prevent such accidents, especially if the UAV was 
used over a populated area.

That said, you can find UAV notices right in the notams.

KVCV is a typical UAV playground. The FBI flies out of there as well, 
but don't know if there is a connection.
