I would definitly look towards the federal prison. The US Bureau of Priso=
ns
has been converting all of their facilities to 5 channel digital trunked
systems all over the country. So far I have only found Motorola P-25
systems in use at the facilities I have monitored. I recently confirmed o=
ne
at the Sheridan, OR, federal detention facility...

Last night I found what sounds like a Motorola data channel on 408.0125
Mhz. =
It's fairly strong in the Mid-Hudson Valley area of New York
(Poughkeepsie). =
Can be heard here on a PRO-43 with duck antenna if it's in the right spot=
,
so =
the signal isn't very close. With a beam it seems to be south southwest.
Today =
the data channel moved to 407.0125 Mhz. So far some buzzing, but nothing =
recognizable as voice on 408.0125. Suppose it could be from West Point,
Stewart =
ANGB or Otisville federal prison in Orange Co.
Would appreciate if anyone can ID this.
