My suggestion is to upgrade to something a little better than RG-8. Since you are willing to spend the time and money to upgrade, do yourself a favor and get 9913 or better for the scanner. Some of the weak signals can really dissipate pretty quickly even on 50 foot runs, especially at 800 mHz or higher. Jim N�JS
