I concur with that. Everything won't work for squat if you're losing 90%
of your signal in some mediocre coax run. RG-58 is OK for short runs on
HF, but unacceptable at VHF/UHF/800. RG-8 and the smaller RG-8X is OK for
short runs at VHF, and that's all. By "short runs" I mean less than 50
feet.
