But your point about the artificial political fight is entirely correct - I 
have been saying this for some time.

I guess as someone who believes in liberty and the necessity of watching 
over our chosen government, and thus the right to monitor their 
communications, I am somewhat in a minority these days.  I don't have that 
much monitoring equipment, but I do like knowing what is going on in my 
area, and especially if something big hits the fan, although I'll probably 
be too busy taking care of the family to bother listening and just go 
straight to my assigned rally frequencies.
